Saturday, May 10, 2008 DOJ issues subpoena vs Geisler
THE Department of Justice (DOJ) has issued a subpoena against actor Baron Geisler to answer to allegations lodged by the daughter of showbiz couple William Martinez and Yayo Aguila that she had been sexually attacked by the actor inside a disco bar in Makati.
The subpoena was issued by Prosecuting Attorney Amanda Felipe for Geisler (Baron Frederick von Geisler in real life) to appear at the DOJ on May 23 at 10 a.m. and to submit his counter-affidavit.
Geisler was formally charged on Friday with acts of lasciviousness by 21-year-old Patrizha Maree Aguila Martinez, an AB Communication Arts graduate from Miriam College.
The charges were forwarded by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) through Police Superintendent Sotera Macatangay to the DOJ for preliminary investigation.
Based on the complaint-affidavit filed by the victim, Geisler, who managed to resurrect his drowning career after joining a show over ABS-CBN, violated Article 336 of the Revised Penal Code when he allegedly tried to lure the victim into having sex with him amid her resistance.
According to Patrizha, the incident took place on April 25, 2008 at the Fiamma Bar on Jupiter St. in Makati City while the victim was partying with friends.
She called and invited Geisler to join them. When the young actor showed up, he was supposedly with co-actors Paulo Paraiso and Michelle Madrigal.
After several hours in the bar, Geisler got drunk and tried to make advances on her. When she resisted, he allegedly asked for a "hug" instead, and when she still declined, it was then that Geisler pinched her cheeks before fondling her breasts.
When she stepped away from Geisler, the actor hurled invectives at her, prompting her to ask for help from the persons in the bar. (ECV/Sunnex)
