Some of the fans who patiently waited were upset with what happened.
One of the fans said, he "paid US$300 for tickets to the private party for himself, his wife and daughter but said after hours of waiting, the stars never materialized."
"They said to be patient, they're on their way. It was terrible," Jason Fernandez said.
Fernandez added, "none of the people who have been selling tickets stayed behind to explain what had happened."
ABS-CBN management denied the network's involvement in the staging of the "Wowowee VIP Bash" (which was pertained by the AP report) held at the Rumours nightclub in Hawaii last Thursday night.
"It is also not in any way associated with Bigatin Productions, the supposed producer of the VIP bash," the network added in a press statement.
The Wowowee production team though admitted that it received an invitation from the organizers of the private party, but it never accepted, committed, or agreed to bring the stars of Wowowee except for the three dancers who showed up that night.
They were also unaware that tickets were being sold to the public at US$100 each, the report said.
Wowowee is touring the US.
Thousands of people are expected to converge at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu on Saturday.
The show will be broadcasted on The Filipino Channel (TFC) and ABS-CBN in a two-hour special coverage. (JRDB/Sunnex)
