A WEEK after their friends and supporters offered a healing mass at Christ the King Church in Quezon City, strong-willed couple Rudy Fernandez and Lorna Tolentino expressed their appreciation in a television interview last Saturday.
"We thanked all the people who attended the healing mass, most of all for those who belong in the industry who really showed their love for Rudy and for our family," Lorna said.
According to Lorna, Daboy's (Rudy's nickname) condition is "slowly improving, getting better each day, although things are not that easy because there were some complications that Rudy had because of the obstruction of his biliary duct."
She added that Rudy, her children (Renz and Raphe), friends, supporters and most especially God make her withstand challenges in her life like Rudy's situation at present.
Meanwhile, Daboy disregarding his delicate condition also compelled himself to deliver a message just to thank the people praying for her speedy recovery.
"Thank you for everything that I am receiving from every Filipino and from my friends and also for my family, thank you," Rudy said as he apologized for his soft voice.
The veteran actor also managed to crack jokes as he complained for the bad connection of the telephone interview and asked for its improvement.
Rudy recently reaped a "Natatanging Artista Award" from Star Awards.
Meanwhile, according to Lorna's manager Lolit Solis, Rudy is slightly upset as Alma Moreno (mother of Mark Anthony Fernandez) still fails to visit him in the hospital.
But Lolit said when she talked to Alma, the actress said she could not help crying when she sees the situation of Rudy. She likewise denied that she did not bother to visit Rudy. (JRDB/Sunnex)
