KC inks contract with GMA Films

AFTER GMA-7 exclusive star Richard Gutierrez jumped into ABS-CBN turf and signed one-picture contract with Star Cinema last Tuesday, her leading lady who on the other hand an exclusive star of ABS-CBN last Thursday stepped to GMA-7 network to also sign a contract with GMA Films.

The contract that KC signed was for GMA Films' Valentine 2009 movie with leading man Richard Gutierrez, which will be directed by Joey Reyes.

Present during the contract signing were GMA Films president Annette Gozon-Abrogar, Joey Abacan, Direk Joey Reyes and KC's managers Sandra Chavez and Shirley Kuan.

"It's actually become an ex-deal," said KC in a separate television interview.

"So Richard was lent with ABS by GMA and in return ABS is lending me with GMA Films. So it's an ex-deal. That was also what GMA got because they were also the ones who reach out for the tandem," she said.

During Richard's first visit to ABS-CBN last Tuesday, the actor said he was excited and privileged at the same time honored to be given an opportunity to step to the network "legally."

For KC's turn now, when asked what she feels of visiting GMA-7 camp, she said: "I am very excited. It's a very exciting day (Thursday) for us and nicer now you know it's my turn to initiate me now because the last time Richard was with ABS-CBN and it would really show the difference between the two networks."

When asked about their persistence on making this phenomenal movie worked, KC shared: "This movie is really something that we never thought could actually happen because of the network war and all that stuff. It was really such a nice feeling most especially because the two networks went beyond the norm and their limitations because I guess people are starting to unite in one, raise in one."

"Months and months of chaos," this is how KC described her and Richard's struggle for their movie to push through. "There were pushing and pouring and one network want this and another network would want this. It was really a lot of pushing and pouring for months on end. And the fight that we fought, things were confirmed; things were pushed through; something else could happen and there would be another one week delay. The last resort was for us is to go and have speaker that will lead to the bosses to explain our side and really the priority are the people since there are the ones who are clamoring for the project," KC explained.

The commercial model-turned actress added that they welcome the public as they made "some kind of clamor" for her tandem with Richard whom she considered as her friend and a person whom she really feels at ease.

Some of the scenes in their movie will be shot in a romantic place of Greece as KC said their advocacy to share and show Filipinos what's in it Greece. "We want to share with the people here in our country what is there in Greece, their culture, if what we have here are also there. So apart from it is part of the story also it's our advocacy to show Filipinos the different parts of the world just to open up to see what's out there," the witty lady said.

Meanwhile, KC giving a little thrill for her fans said Richard is her inspiration as she is doing the movie he gained care and God's faith to the actor as they both strive to do a project that they both love.

When asked if on screen love team would have a chance to turn into a true love affair, she clarified: "I guess it's natural (to be become close) because when you spend time with the person and you work long hours, you know you work like 26 hours a day and you spend a lot of time together and become one in each other the energy and at the end of the day you all of the staff are tired, the people who you work with are the ones that will give you energy and inspiration to finish the work. Well I guess it's a natural thing to get close to the people you work with." (JRDB/Sunnex)
