Wednesday, May 28, 2008 Sharon marks 30th year in showbiz
AS THE Megastar celebrates her 30th year in show business, Sharon Cuneta cannot help but cried during her interview last Saturday in a television talk show.
Sharon paused for a few minutes as her tears kept bursting and then thanked all the people who are constantly supporting her since she started her career.
"I want to say thank you to all my fans and all my friends for 30 years. I even gained more friends from my solid, national, darling, megastar, forever friends, and now there's online, it's nice to have you here (studio). I love you all," she exclaimed, as she can't control her tears of joy seeing all her fans supporting her that day.
After four long years, Sharon is back for the 15th anniversary presentation of Star Cinema directed by endowed director Chito Roņo titled "Caregiver", which most scenes were shot in England.
"I am excited to do this ('Caregiver') coz this is my first movie in over four years so all my movies have babies, but this kind a feel different but it's somewhat the same feeling that I felt when 'Madrasta' is about to screen. I don't know where it's coming from," she said about what she feels filming a new movie again.
The ever-thankful megastar said she also congratulated director Chito Roņo and her Star Cinema family, and at the same time thanking them for the opportunity to celebrate a milestone with the film outfit through "Caregiver".
"It's such a big movie. I heard Star Cinema's biggest, most expensive it was certainly my most difficult to do even compared to 'Pasan ko ang Daigdig' that I had to shoot it at Smokey Mountain or stumbled down on garbage in two weeks, it doesn't feel this was really the most difficult," Sharon said.
The veteran actress also said she was overwhelmed by the positive and satisfactory feedbacks from her fans and friends on the trailer of her newest movie.
"I am not exaggerating when I say that when you watch the movie and you pay attention, you will probably feel every beat of my heart," Sharon shared as she said she gave her best in this film and considered it as the hardest film she had ever made.
Caregiver is one of the films that have been chosen and invited to open in Paris Film Festival in July.
The megastar proudly said: "I only got that (invitation) last night. I think they reviewed all movies and our movie we just finished it then someone texted my husband and then texted me... all night we was like all in high state... I was invited to go to the film fest."
Sharon played the role of Sarah who is a teacher-turned-health-worker (caregiver) in London to support and give her son a better future.
Some of the casts include John Estrada, Lotlot de Leon, Boots Anson-Roa, Rica Peralejo, Monique Wilson, Anita Linda, Mickey Ferriols, Jhong Hilario and child actor Makisig Morales.
"Caregiver" will have a special screening at SM Megamall on May 27 at 7 p.m. and will be shown in theaters nationwide starting May 28. (JRDB/Sunnex)
