Monday, June 02, 2008 Martinez's family firm in pursuing suit vs Baron
SHOWBIZ couple Yayo Aguila and William Martinez has an all out support for daughter Patricia who was allegedly sexually harassed by actor Baron Geisler.
The acts of lasciviousness case filed by Patricia against Baron had already reached the Department of Justice office (DOJ), said in a television interview last Saturday.
The case is now ongoing even though Baron was absent during the preliminary investigation last Friday where a representative stood in for him.
According to the Martinez, no compensation money will make them change their decision to sue and teach Baron a lesson also even if the young actor is a friend of Yayo.
The incident between Baron and Patricia happened when Yayo was in the US. Yayo said Baron sent her a text message apologizing for what he did, but then as a mother, she could not let anyone to treat her daughter that way most especially by a person who she treats as a close friend.
Yayo and Baron became close when they both confined in Pinoy Big Brother House, a reality show of ABS-CBN 2.
Thus Yayo said she could not understand why Baron, whom she described as a sweet person, did that (alleged harassment) to her 22-year-old daughter.
"If he did that to me maybe I could give him a chance as her friend and as a person close to him. I know his behavior because we have been together for a long period," said Yayo. "So who would ever think that this would happen or that it would happen to my daughter by somebody who's very close to us and my children?" she added.
The couple also said Patricia was affected by the negative things being written about her in the web and she was also traumatized as she can't leave their house if not accompanied by other people (boyfriend).
"She's hurt and sad and she knows that we are also affected by the issues," Yayo said.
The whole Martinez family was highly affected by the issue that money is the primary reason that they want to continue the case, which the Martinez's strongly opposed.
"They're wrong, even if they push the bribe to 10 million, we don't want it. Patricia told us that her purpose why she wants to do this is to help other women being sexually harassed by men. We want him (Baron) to learn a lesson because the only way to learn is to undergo this kind of thing," William exclaimed.
Yayo said she wanted to see Baron in court and personally confront the actor, as Baron could not evade them in inevitable encounter, as process of court requires. (JRDB/Sunnex)
