Wednesday, June 11, 2008 Angelu plays 'ala Tessa Prieto' role in ABS-CBN's upcoming series
TELEVIEWERS will be expecting a new and extreme character for actress Angelu de Leon after doing a motherly role in kid superhero fantaserye "Super Inggo".
The actress said along with Zanjoe Marudo, Jason Gaiza and John Pratts, she is now busy taping upcoming TV series of ABS-CBN dubbed "Pare Koy".
Although Angelu doesn't know when their soap will be shown, she said she is excited in portraying her "extreme" role "ala Tessa Prieto without a budget", as she exclaimed. She will be the wife of Jason in the series.
"It's about friendship with three friends having different dreams in life and in some ways in their life they were divided. It is also like a mini Robinhood alongside of their character they are thieves here, but all they wanted is just to build a friendship that revolve around love," she said.
She added that they are starting with the taping and they are hoping that it will be aired on the network this year.
Aside from TV series, Angelu also starred in a comeback movie of one of the Philippines finest women Krista Ranillo titled "Paupahan". It was produced by former bold star Allen Dizon and directed by Joven Tan.
"I'm the wife of Jay Manalo and then I used to teach. I am a teacher but it runs in her family a certain psychological problem and when she faces stressful events in her life that triggers her mental illness. But then all she wanted is to be with her family and make it right for the family," Angelu briefly shared.
The star-studded cast includes German Moreno, Snooky Serna, Jay Manalo, Allen, and Joseph Bitangcol. "Paupahan" will be premiered on June 22. (JRDB/Sunnex)
