Friday, June 13, 2008 Stef plays 'kontrabida' in new GMA series
YOUNG actress Stef Prescott will play a villain role opposite to Jenica Garcia in the upcoming Koreanovela adaptation of GMA-7, "My Name is Kim Sam Soon."
This is not the first time for Stef to do a "kontrabida" role, but then her character in the soap is so much different from her previous acts.
"I will be playing a role opposite Jenica Garcia who plays as the younger sister of Ms. Regine Velasquez (lead actress)," she said.
"We go to the same school -- Jenica and I. Then I am a typical rich girl with snobbish personality. While Jenica is a normal girl who will have a crush on my cousin (Kevin Santos) whom she thinks is my boyfriend. So that begins the conflict, but Mart (Escudero) is also the bestfriend of Jenica and then eventually they will be paired to each other as they are love teams," she further said.
According to Stef, this will be her second time to work with Jenica whom she said is a very nice lady, thus she's unwary that there will be no off-screen conflicts incur between them.
"We've worked before in 'Boys Next Door'. Although my role here is bad, Jenica and I we're okay in real life, and she's a good lady. Maybe she got it from her mom (Jean Garcia) who's a very kind-hearted actress also," she said.
Stef said after her stint in the reality show "Starstruck: The Next Level", she becomes more responsible. She enhances her singing prowess so that she prepare for any chances that may come.
"I am into voice lessons so if ever there are offers, my performance would be satisfactory," the 17-year-old actress said.
Stef said "Kim Sam Soon" will be shown on June 23 over GMA primetime slots.
She will also guest in GMA-7's interactive game show "Takeshi's Castle" and will participate in Kapusolympics on June 22. (JRDB/Sunnex)
