Vina plans to do album
By Jill Beltran

FRESH from her concert in the US and Canada, actress-singer Vina Morales is back to record a new album.

Vina recently had international concerts with multi-talented artist Vhong Navarro and when she arrived, she disclosed her desires to do a new album, which she said is in the planning stage already.

"It's so hard finding a good concept because I have done several albums from the past and I want this to be different so we really have to think about it," she said with an excitement on her face.

The actress said she misses doing albums, and she will try to finish recording it this year and probably out in the market next year.

Vina's most recent album, which is a collection of love songs titled "Mamahalin Ka Niya," was released in March 2004. She co-wrote the lyrics of one song, "Paano Kaya Magtatagpo?" with good friend Piolo Pascual while music was composed by Arnel de Pano.

After staging successful shows abroad, Vina meanwhile said she is planning to stay in the country and do local concerts here this coming August.

"I am looking forward to do more concerts here. I want to stay put for awhile because I also miss doing movies and soap opera, but there's a lot of competition today so I am just waiting for the right project," she said.

Vina's last soap was with ABS-CBN's series "Maria Flordeluna" in 2007, where she played the role of Elvira, the mother of Maria Flordeluna, played by child actress Eliza Pineda.

"You know if there's a good offer for me in doing soaps, you know what I'll claim it," the thrilled actress exclaimed.

Vina evidently achieved what she desired for her life, but then although she's contented with what she has now, she said she is still not in a rush to settle down and have her own family.

"I am happy with my life, but you know I am not really in a rush. Time will come, in God's time if I'm gonna be settling down. I'll be proud of it I'll tell everyone, but for now one step at a time. I am at the stage that I am ready because I already accomplish many things in my life, but then let's just wait and see," she said.

With beautiful career and relationship with all networks, film and recording outfits, Vina said she will always be grateful for all the blessings and opportunities that these companies are giving her.

"I will never forget all the networks and companies that helped me, and I am thankful that my fans are still supporting me," she shared.

Aside from singing and acting, Vina also has her beauty salon business. She proudly said they (with co-owners) are "blessed with 30 branches of 'Ystilo' all over the Philippines."

Meanwhile, as message for a friend (Rudy Fernandez who recently succumbed to cancer) who she once worked with, she said: "I think he is also ready. I know that he is happy up there. I will pray for him and I am praying for the family also. He was really a very good person."
