READERS and supporters of For Him Magazine (FHM) considered Marian Rivera as this year's sexiest Filipino woman.
The "Dyesebel" star won with a total of 316,135 votes, surpassing Katrina Halili, who was the two-time (2006 and 2007) winner of FHM 100 Sexiest with 123,239 votes.
"It's not bad 'coz I am still in number two," Katrina said.
Angel Locsin, meanwhile, landed at number 3 with 121,388 votes. She once won the title as sexiest Pinay in 2005.
Marian said she is so happy that she is now considered as the Philippines' finest by the country's biggest-selling magazine.
She wants to share her title to the people who voted for her. "For me they are the true number one in my heart. I will not be in this position if not for their votes," she said in a television interview.
"I have no problem with Katrina. For two years, she proved that she's really the sexiest; I saw in her interview that she is happy for me. That's why I am happy with that," Marian said.
Meanwhile, Katrina clarified that although she failed to bag the title this year, she was not disappointed that Marian won.
"I am really happy for this year's result. I am not competing with anybody and number two is not bad, and any number I landed is okay for me. What's important is that there are still people supporting me," she said.
She added that this year is Marian's time for the post, and she is not competing with the actress. "This is not a competition. People voted us for this title, and we are happy that they voted for Marian," she also said.
Marian's victory is remarkable as she is the very first woman to be hailed as the Philippines' sexiest by the magazine without covering for them.
But the sexy actress once said if she will be declared as the FHM's sexiest woman this year, she will pose for the said magazine. Will she stand by her word?
"Yes. I will do it, but we are still not discussing it with my manager (Popoy Caritativo). If the concept is good, why not? And my manager knows what I can do and what I cannot. There are still limitations, and it should still be wholesome," Marian said. (JRDB/Sunnex)
