PDA scholars prepare for 3rd live gala night

ALBEIT the sudden change of song assignments, scholars in the "Pinoy Dream Academy (PDA) Season 2" are busy preparing for the 3rd Live Gala Performance Night.

The new assignment was given by Teacher Monet Silvestre last Sunday.

From One Voice, Bunny Malunda will be rocking out Orient Pearl's "Pagsubok" while Iñaki Ting will attempt an impressive performance of Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time."

Ross Dio will render Goo Goo Dolls' "Iris" while Christian Alvear will sing Barry Manilow's "Can't Smile Without You."

Miguel Mendoza will be singing an OPM classic first popularized by Anthony Castelo, "Hahanapin Ko" while Bea Muñoz will be performing Smokey Mountain's "Kailan."

It will be Melissa Manchester's "Come In From The Rain" for Apple Abarquez and Lifehouse's "You and Me" for Jet Singh.

From the Pupilars' side, Hansen Nichols will be singing Enrique Iglesias' "Escape" while Probee Michelle "Sheng" Belmonte will be doing "Lean On Me."

Side A's hit "Forevermore" will be Jay "Bugoy" Bugayan's piece while it will be Johnny Hates Jazz's "Turn Back The Clock" for Van Pojas.

Sheena Easton's pop classic "So Much In Love" was assigned to Liezel Garcia, Heart's "These Dreams" to Cris Pastor, and Christina Aguilera's "Fighter" to Laarni Losala.

The 15 remaining scholars will be undergoing a series of vocal exercises and song rehearsals under Teacher Kitchy Molina and Teacher Monet for the next days to ensure that they do well on Saturday.

Meanwhile, being put on probation by his One Voice orgmates prompted Videojock Jet to question his org's unity and orgmates' sincerity.

In a talk with Hansen of Pupilars, Jet pointed out how the Pupilars stood by their orgmates Sheng and Cris by not choosing any of them to be a part of this week's probees.

He also expressed how he thinks some of his orgmates want to pull him down for some unknown reasons.

Jet's complaints didn't end with his orgmates, as he seems to have a difficult time accepting resident juror Gerard Salonga's comments on his performance during last Saturday's Live Gala Performance Night.

He also ranted about Iñaki and a certain female scholar's bossiness.

The change in the song assignments for the 3rd Live Gala Performance Night also irked Jet.

He made Ross aware of his annoyance, which got the attention of Teacher Monet.

Teacher Monet then huddled the scholars and gave them a lecture on respecting decisions. He didn't single out Jet, but asked the person who complained to admit what he did.

Jet didn't budge to this request but Ross approached Teacher Monet after the incident and confessed what he knew. Jet then went to Teacher Monet.

Jet is one of the scholars facing a possible expulsion from the academy together with Stand-Up Comic Sheng. (JRDB/Sunnex)
