Ai-ai feels blessed amid intrigues

COMEDY Queen Ai-ai de las Alas was overwhelmed by the blessings that she is receiving in show business.

Ai-ai, the Movie Actress of the Year by the Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) during the recent 24th Star Awards for Movies said she is grateful to God for blessings.

Known for her intrinsic comic character, Ai-ai accepted her trophy cracking jokes.

“I am so gorgeous tonight,” she said. “It is such a great honor to become a true actress. As you can see, all of my contenders cried while I just fell down the staircase and I won the award. I cried in that movie, too. Maybe they pity me,” she said.

She thanked all her co-nominees.

"Nais ko pong ibahagi itong award sa aking co no… Kapwa nominado? Ano ba co nominated? Ah, co actress nalang" she said as the audience hooted.

Ai-ai turned serious and teary-eyed when she thanked the goodness of God whom she said balances her life amid negative intrigues thrown her way like the James-Kris controversy.

“I have so many worries these past days. I cried when I won because God is always there to balance everything in my life. When I am sad, he cheers me up,” she said.

When asked if she is ready to reconcile with James, she said in jest, “maybe James has a crush on me. He can’t forget me.”

“Why will I say sorry? I didn’t do anything wrong. I just defended Kris,” said Ai-ai.

The rift between Ai-ai and James started when the comedienne offended the PBA cager because of the advise she gave Kris.

Ai-ai reportedly said, “Isoli mo muna si James sa nanay niya (You return James to her mother)” at the height of the James-Hope controversy. (JRDB/Sunnex)
