Saturday, July 26, 2008 Binoe endorses Armm automated polls
ACTION star Robin Padilla was handpicked to become the endorser of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) for its new automated voting procedure using the Optical Map Reader (OMR).
The said device will be used in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (Armm) elections on August 11.
Robin, Binoe as his friends fondly call him, was chosen to help in the informative campaign regarding the new voting system to be used for the 2010 elections.
The action star supported the Comelec's drive to change the voting system of Armm into automation.
"As I accept this endorsement, I would want to help change the image of Armm when it comes to election processes," Robin said.
He added that the Armm elections should push through to have progress and changes in the region.
Some groups want the elections postponed.
Robin will be appearing in posters and komiks for the Comelec's information drive.
He will also be doing some radio advertisements.
Robin donated his P2-million talent fee to the Liwanag ng Kabataan foundation wherein a number of students will be given proper education. (JRDB/Sunnex)
