Wednesday, August 06, 2008 Ciara talks about latest album
SINGER-actress Ciara Sotto has been successful in promoting her album in the country even just for two weeks.
She only took a short leave from her upcoming show in Las Vegas ("Fever") to promote her second CD called "If You Love Me," which according to her, is an album very close to her heart.
"I am so much involved in the production of this album that's why it is very special to me. My daddy (former Senator Tito Sotto) also helped me a lot in preparing for this album," Ciara said.
The album even became more special as some songs were written by the young singer's father and TV host-songwriter Joey de Leon.
Ciara's dad and uncle Vic Sotto did backed-up vocals for the song "Some Enchanted Evening."
According to Ciara, she decided to call her album "If You Love Me" because that's her favorite song in the album.
"The arrangement and background of the song is very dramatic," she said. "I actually did it twice, one in Tagalog, one in English and French and that's my favorite," she shared.
Asked if she dedicated this song to someone special to her she exclaimed, "Pwede!"
"It's really very meaningful. It can be a sad song and it can also be feel-good song for someone who's in love. And if you listen to the words and lyrics it's really very dramatic and romantic," she added.
Ciara meanwhile chose a Filipino song as her carrier single. She said she wants it to be a Tagalog song "after being away from the country for so long."
"'Kapalaran' was originally performed by Rico J. Puno. It's a revival. Actually (Sony) BMG and my dad decided on it," she related.
Ciara proudly shared that she recorded one song for the album, which was given by international singer David Pomeranz.
The album produced and distributed by Sony BMG Music also includes: "Ang Tanging Tunay Kong Pag-ibig," "Kung Ako Man Ay Mahal Mo," "Charade," "Where Do We Go From Now," "Finally," and "For the First Time."
Ciara recorded her album in Las Vegas where she is now based due to her shows abroad. The album has 14 tracks and a bonus track in it.
Being independent in the US made a big difference in Ciara's life. She said she did a lot of adjustments like paying her own bills, cleaning her own house, and buying her daily needs.
But then, many also noticed the big improvement on Ciara's body as she became sexier now.
"I dance and I go to the gym there and my body is not really used to that kind of routine maybe that's the reason," Ciara said.
Another adjustment and sacrifice for the actress-singer is her love life.
Ciara and her beau are in their three years of relationship now, but according to her, distance has never been a problem to them.
"We are happy even if it's a long distance relationship. He visits there if he has time. The only problem is that we miss each other a lot but he got to visit me about three times when I was there and now we also see each other since I am here," she ended. (JRDB/Sunnex)
