Thursday, August 07, 2008 PDA scholars to sing mentor's choices
TO CULMINATE the scholars' midterms week, they will be singing songs chosen for them by the Pinoy Dream Academy (PDA) mentors during the upcoming 8th Live Gala Performance, Probation, and Expulsion Night.
The mentors are challenging the scholars to level up their game and show everybody what they've got.
The mentors chose Anita Baker's "Sweet Love" for Apple Abarquez, George Michael's "As" for Bugoy Bugayan, Jordin Sparks' "Tattoo" for Cris Pastor, Side A's "Hold On" for Michelle Belmonte, and "Lady Marmalade" from Moulin Rouge for Bunny Malunda.
Hoping to see them make use their voices, the mentors chose Al Jarreau's "Spain" for Iñaki Ting, Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" for Laarni Losala, The Emotions' "Best Of My Love" for Liezel Garcia, Spandau Ballet's "True" for Miguel Mendoza, Bamboo's "Tatsulok" for Van Pojas, and Barbara Streisand's "A Piece Of Sky" for Poy.
As for the weekly showdown between Poy and one of the scholars, the honorary scholar will be facing off with Bugoy this coming Saturday.
The two will be showing off what their singing chops through Regine Velasquez's "Narito Ako."
PDA Season 2 Uberture airs weekdays at 5:30 p.m. and PDA Season 2 Primetime weeknights, after "My Girl" on ABS-CBN 2. (JRDB/Sunnex)
