Friday, August 15, 2008 Jolina to critics: 'I cannot please everybody'
ACTRESS-host Jolina Magdangal brushed off negative comments on her short stint as judge in GMA-7's reality singing show "Pinoy Idol".
Critics belittled the Magdangal's credibility in giving criticisms and advice to the show's contestants as they said she should reflect on her flaws first.
The actress said GMA-7 would not have given her the task if she were not qualified for it.
She said however that she was ready for criticisms.
"I cannot please everybody. People will always criticize whatever I will say, so I just ignore their criticisms," she said in Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP) report.
According to the actress, she and other two judges of "Pinoy Idol" - Ogie Alcasid and Wyngard Tracy - were only thinking of the betterment of the show.
They were as well protecting the show's reputation being a world-recognized reality singing show.
Now that the show is nearly coming to its end, she said that the remaining contestants' fate is in the hands of the texters and not on the judges.
Though people are skeptical in her role in "Pinoy Idol", GMA-7's trust in her capability is unfazed as she was given a movie I.T.A.L.Y. (I Trust and Love You) and her own TV show with Marvin Agustin called "Dear Friend".
"Again, criticisms will always be there and I'm always open for it. At least, I am still here despite that. GMA-7 is there to support me and I will always be grateful," she ended. (JRDB/Sunnex)
