A Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP) report said JC had pulled out from the movie due to "conflict of schedule". The actor is scheduled to tape for GMA's new show "Obra" being its first featured male artist for the month of September.
He is also slated to shoot "Shake, Rattle & Roll X," which is a Metro Manila Film Festival entry produced by Regal Entertainment.
In addition to his strings of projects, JC will also be busy promoting his upcoming movie "Loving You" to be shown on August 20.
After JC rejected the role, it was allegedly offered first to ABS-CBN talent Jason Abalos but then due to conflict of schedule, it had also failed to materialize.
Hero meantime landed the role as he immediately accepted the offer, which will be his comeback role in movie after three years.
The last movie that Hero did is "Can This Be Love" under Star Cinema with co-Star Circle Quest winner Sandara Park.
According to the actor, he is happy to join the powerhouse cast of "Sundo" led by Robin, Katrina Halili, Sunshine Dizon, Rhian, and ABS-CBN star actor-singer Mark Bautista.
Hero currently appears in GMA's fantasy series "Dyesebel".
"Sundo" will be filmed by the group behind the success of "Ouija". It is co-produced by Viva Entertainment. (JRDB/Sunnex)
