'Ka Blog!' tackles yosi, bands, ukay-ukay

THIS Saturday, GMA-7's newest teen-oriented show "Ka Blog!" discusses a wide range of topics from cancer-causing cigarettes, to youth bands, and ukay-ukay trips.

Although seriously alarming, it is uncommon knowledge that close to four million teens aged below 19 years old are stick puffers, and kids as young as 11 are addicted to smoking.

Ka-Blog Mico Aytona meets these teen smokers and learns why they cannot stop puffing cigarettes despite the open dangers and health hazards that go with it.

From music newsbytes, Ka-Blog Monica Verallo attends the first ever Ka-Blog! Music Awards and meets the nominees for the Philippines' hottest band honor.

Monica troops to one of the gigs of Callalily, a band known not only for their natural inclination to music, but also for their universal, unique appeal.

She also gets a backstage pass to Urbandub's mini-concert in Cubao and finds out how this gem-of-a-band swooped on the music industry like lightning.

She likewise jams with the uber-kulit band Rocksteddy and learns more about their latest project.

Meanwhile, the ultimate kikay girl, Andrea Torres, goes bargain hunting in ukay-ukay shops.

She guides shoppers to the world of ukay-ukay fashion and proves that treasure troves of hip and trendy clothes can be found even in thrift shops.

Andrea also gives tips on how to mix the perfect ukay outfit.

"Ka-Blog!" airs on Saturday, at 10 a.m. (JRDB/Sunnex)
