‘The Singing Bee’ bids goodbye

ABS-CBN 2’s top-rated show “The Singing Bee” will have its final episode for its first season on Friday.

Hosted by Cesar Montano, the karaoke singing game show would originally run only for 13 weeks but due to insistent demand it was extended for two weeks which all in all ran for 15 weeks.

It is the only game show aired on the Primetime block and has repeatedly taken the No. 1 spot in the Nationwide Urban Television Audience Measurement (Nutam) survey conducted by AGB Nielsen Media Research Philippines.

Cesar said: “the show will end its first season on Friday but will be back after a month for its second season.”

Based on its high ratings, majority of local households undeniably loved this exciting karaoke singing show with a twist of spelling bee-style competition.

Aiza Seguerra and Rachel Alejandro were some of the grand winners who took home millions of pesos cash prizes from the singing show.

As the show bids goodbye, “Dyosa,” top-billed by Anne Curtis, will replace the karaoke game show’s block at 7:45 p.m. followed by “Iisa Pa Lamang” starring Claudine Barretto at 8:30 p.m.

The local adaptation of “My Girl” by Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson will be shown earlier starting Monday at 9:15 p.m. And completing the Primetime Bida is “Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2,” which will be aired at 10 p.m. (JRDB/Sunnex)
