Monday, August 25, 2008 2 singers unite in one album
TWO of the most-active and influential recording companies, Star Records and Warner Music Philippines, recently had their contract signing for their forthcoming project entitled "Face Off", featuring two of the hottest male balladeers of the country, The Prince of Pop -- Erik Santos and Asian Pop Idol -- Christian Bautista.
Erik and Christian will be releasing a collaboration album by September 2008 consisting of 18 songs made famous by the two, plus two original songs to be collaborated by both.
"We wanted to do something new this year, so this is one of them...a collaboration," Christian said. "Erik and I decided to work together to show our fans what we can do together."
"I am excited to do this project. This is our first time that I and Christian perform in one concert together," Erik enthused. "Here in the Philippines, the usual back-to back concerts involve boy and girl, or both girls but now we are both boys," the Prince of Pop said.
The two recording giants are also very much excited with this distinct and interesting concept.
"It hasn't been done before, so it's only fair that we do it as both Star Records and Warner Music Philippines will also benefit from this unique project," said Jim Baluyut, General Manager of Warner Music Philippines.
"Let's just say that Erik and Christian are the two hottest male balladeers not only in our country but in Asia, so it's perfect to unite for the collaboration album of Warner and Star Records these two artists," said Annabelle Regalado, Managing Director of Star Records.
A culminating concert will be held at the Araneta Coliseum sometime in November. Erik and Christian will come face to face as they let their fans see and hear them blend their music, live.
"Face-Off" album will be out sometime in September and the "Face-off" concert will be in November also co-produced by Star Records and Warner Music Philippines. (JRDB/Sunnex)
