Monday, August 25, 2008 Cheska's Mediterranean-inspired bridal shower
TO CELEBRATE the upcoming marriage of "Metro Weddings" cover girl Cheska Garcia to basketball star Doug Kramer, "Metro Weddings" magazine hosted a unique and special bridal shower inspired by their upcoming honeymoon plans.
"We are planning to take a romantic Mediterranean cruise for our honeymoon", Cheska said.
This was the jump-off point for Metro Weddings editor-in-chief Romina Urra-Gonzalez for the theme of the bridal shower.
Mandarin Oriental Manila Nash function room served as the perfect venue for the intimate event. Top florist and events stylist Zenas Pineda transformed the room into a haven, creating table centerpieces using cabbage roses, yellow anastasia chrysanthemums and leaves.
The arrangements were placed side-by-side the Mandarin's selection of pita bread, rolls, bread sticks and an assortment of dips.
Goldilocks also provided the delicious bridal shower cake that was inspired by the travel theme. Tall vases filled with lemons greeted the guests at the entrance while upbeat percussions resonated in the air.
Cheska's good friend Cesca Litton prepared the guest list comprised of Cheska's good friends and entourage members. The Metro Weddings team prepared fun games for the group of ladies and great prizes from My Diamond were given to the winners.
But, the highlight of the affair was a surprise belly/pole dance number by Movement Studio Lala Dingsalan. Two poles were revealed as Lala gracefully and astoundingly worked the pole. The girls were shrieking as she eventually taught Cheska and some of the guests some moves.
This unique touch is the biggest trend in entertainment for bridal showers. Without being too risqué, the dance is both fun and tastefully done.
The Cabana Workshop made blue, lime and yellow colored embroidered cosmetic bags for the guests to take home. They also made the personalized travel set the Metro Weddings' team gave Cheska for the shower.
Coordinated laundry bag, toiletry kit, flip-flop bag, lingerie case, bikini bag and carry-all tote, with Cheska's name embroidered on each item was a personalized gift she absolutely adored.
Her dearest friends and entourage members were present to honor Cheska as she embarks on her new starring role as wife.
