Thursday, August 28, 2008 Annabelle happy with success of son's movie
WITNESSING the success of son Richard Gutierrez and Megastar daughter KC Concepcion's first movie together, Annabelle Rama let "For The First Time" premiere night passed by without commenting on the controversial playdate issue.
Last Sunday, the Gutierrez matriarch publicly aired her sentiments along with Sharon Cuneta in the Megastar's own talk show on ABS-CBN 2, "Sharon."
The two expressed sadness and disappointment with the same playdate of their offspring's movie and two of GMA-7 big stars' - Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes - free concert celebration.
Annabelle related: "I am not mad. But now, it seems impossible holding it on Wednesday, Araneta, Wednesday? The same date (with Richard and KC's first day movie screening) yet their birthdays (Marian and Dingdong) already ended. Why had they not done it (last August) 12, 13, 14, 15, 16? Why 27?"
But the fiery "Monster Mom" became calm when interviewed during the premiere night Tuesday of "For The First Time." She said: "I don't want to think about negative issues right now. I am so happy and I don't want to think of things that may interrupt the happiness I am feeling at this moment."
"I am very positive tonight (premiere night, Tuesday). When you're positive, it continues to bring good luck so I am just happy for the both of them," Richard's mother and manager said.
Annabelle then wished his son and KC good luck for their first and highly anticipated movie this year. "Good luck Richard and KC. I am continuously hoping for the success of your movie."
The Cinema Evaluation Board graded "For The First Time" with "B" ratings. Thus, it entitled the film to a 65-percent amusement tax rebate.
"For The first Time" is part of the 15th year anniversary celebration of ABS-CBN film arm Star Cinema. Some parts of the movie were shot in picturesque Greece, directed by highly acclaimed director Bb. Joyce Bernal. (JRDB/Sunnex)
