Japanese charged with rape

A RAPE charge was filed against a Japanese national by his 15-year-old house helper before the Manila Regional Trial Court (RTC) last Thursday.

The respondent, identified as Nakamura Daiju, 67, a native of Tokyo, Japan, was slapped with violation of Republic Act (RA) 7610 for sexually abusing his teenaged house helper inside his house in Ermita, Manila.

The information filed by Assistant City Prosecutor Leo Lee found probable cause to warrant the filing of charges against Daiju.

No bail was recommended for his provisional liberty.

Daiju is detained at Manila Police District-Station 5 in Ermita, Manila.

The prosecutor found merit in the complaint filed by Daiju's victim, who testified that the rape occurred at 10 p.m. of August 21, 2008 inside her room.

She said she slept at 7 p.m. that night but was awakened when the already naked suspect woke her up and tied up both her hands.

Daiju then tried to undress her then kissed her and forced himself into her.

The next day, she managed to escape from captivity and reported the incident to the MPD-Station 5's Women and Children's Desk, which conducted an operation to arrest the suspect. (ECV/Sunnex)
