Saturday, August 30, 2008 Dingdong to discuss playdate issue with Sharon By Jill Beltran
HUNK actor Dingdong Dantes is planning to talk to Megastar Sharon Cuneta, who was reportedly upset with the simultaneous playdate controversy.
Dingdong said he is just waiting for the perfect timing to settle the issue with the Megastar who became close to the actor when they worked together in the movie "Magkapatid."
"I'll send my personal message to Ate Shawie. I want to personally talk to her," he said when asked by some entertainment press of his message to Sharon.
The Megastar was allegedly disappointed with GMA-7's holding of the Dingdong-Marian birthday blowout bash on the same date as the first regular showing day of the movie "For the First Time" starring her daughter KC Concepcion and Richard Gutierrez.
According to Dingdong, there are many factors to be considered regarding the showing day of their event like their network's decision and the venue's availability.
He also stressed that he and Marian had nothing to do with the playdate of their concert and KC and Richard's movie.
"Of course not. We were not the one who made schedules and we did not schedule it," he said.
Dingdong also clarified that he has no rift with fellow Kapuso artist Richard and he is willing to support his movie.
"I am happy for their movie. It's doing well. Marian and I actually plan to watch their movie together with Direk Joyce (Bernal). We are still fixing our schedules but we will watch the movie no matter what happens," he said.
Direk Joyce is a common friend of Dingdong, Marian, and KC. She was very visible during the birthday concert of the two Kapuso stars and she also directed the very first movie of KC with Richard.
When asked if Direk Joyce could serve as the key to end the controversy regarding the playdate issue, Dingdong has this to say: "It just goes to show that she loves us. And what she did there ('For The First Time' screening) is for her personal reasons. It's her work. She wants to do that and she also wants to come here (birthday concert). During our taping she told us that she really wanted to support us that's why we knew that she would be here."
