Sherilyn: A fulfilled woman
By Jill Beltran

GROWING old with her husband and having a wonderful relationship with her kids are the moments actress Sherilyn Reyes desires in her life.

This Cebuana mother used to believe that after a busted marriage and a son under her limb, she will never find a man who will accept the blemished life she had.

Little did she imagine that she will find a new beginning in the towering package of former basketball athlete Chris Tan.

"For other people, it was the wrong time; but then for us, it was God's best time," Sherilyn said, recalling the time when she first accepted Chris.

She revealed that Chris watched her from afar and eagerly wanted to meet her in person. For seven years, the soaring cager tried to get closer to Sherilyn but for some reason, fate hampered the opportunities they should have met.

Not until Chris guested in "Eat Bulaga" where Sherilyn was once a host. "After seven years, he finally met me. I believe God knows when He would give him to me. God waited seven years for us to meet because that was the best time," the actress-TV host said.

Sherilyn and Chris have been together for about seven years now. And as per Sherilyn, spending each day with her husband is an untiring and ever-exciting experience.

"It's an endless courtship," she said. "Chris is a sweet husband. He never fails to surprise me and make me smile. Sometimes we are a few steps away from each other but he will send me sweet messages via email which seems like he is courting me again."

More than physical attributes, the comedy actress said Chris is like an ideal husband for her because he is loving, thoughtful, romantic and definitely a good provider.

"Some may say it's too good to be true, but Chris is really close to a perfect husband. He takes care of us. He sacrificed many things for us, his dreams, his social life yet he is still happy," said Sherilyn.

For her, she will continue loving her husband for a simple reason, "He loves me the way I wanted to be loved and that says it all."

Aside from being a good father to her biological son Kirsten, he is also a responsible and a good father figure to Sherilyn's son with her former husband. "Chris is even more supportive than I to Paioe. They have a strong bond. Sometimes they go out together, watch movies or go wake boarding," she said.

Keeping her family intact, happy and simple is basically the priority of Sherilyn now. She said anytime, if circumstance calls for it, she is willing to give up her career for her family.

"No debates needed. I would say family is my first thing. Everyday, they don't fail to amuse me. Although each day is like a routine, we send them to school, we fetch them, we tutor them, we play games together, and we eat out watch movie. You know these simple things are the things that I want to do as a mother and a wife," she said.

All Sherilyn wants is to have a simple happy life. She once had a failed relationship, but she never closed her door to find a new love that would lead to a happy-ever-after ending.
