It will be replaced by GMA’s first ever-adaptation from Argentina dubbed “La Lola” topbilled by young stars Rhian Ramos and JC De Vera. “La Lola,” which is again a comedy series, will start airing on October 13 after “Dyesebel.”
Few days are left for “Dyesebel” to reign the kingdom of Serenia as spiders in the person of “Gagambino” is about to take over its primetime race.
“Gagambino” is another Carlo Caparas’s classic which will premiere on October 20 featuring one of the hottest male stars of today’s generation, Dennis Trillo. This is the first title role of Dennis and he considers it his big break in showbiz.
Fans of Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera meanwhile should not be bothered because their next project in GMA-7 is already in the planning stage.
Reports said Dingdong and Marian will star in the TV adaptation of the 1980 drama movie “Ang Babaeng Hinugot Sa Aking Tadyang” which originally starred Vivian Velez and the late Eddie Rodriguez.
The futuristic world of “Codename: Asero” starring Richard Gutierrez and Heart Evangelista will still be on the air until mid-November.
On November 17, a romance-fantasy series titled “Luna Mystica” will replace Asero’s timeslot featuring Heart for the second time. This is the second big project of Heart since she transferred to GMA-7. She will be paired with Mark Anthony for the first time.
For GMA’s afternoon block, “Saan Darating Ang Umaga,” which is based on 1983 Viva Films movie of Maryo J. delos Reyes, will replace “Gaano Kadalas ang Minsan” in mid-November.
The TV version will star Lani Mercado in the role played by Nida Blanca and Yasmien Kurdi playing the role originally portrayed by Maricel Soriano.
This week also is the final week of Arnell Ignacio’s late afternoon game show Gobingo. It will be replaced by one of the longest-running game shows in the world - Family Feud - to be hosted by Richard Gomez.
This will be the first hosting job of Richard and will premiere on October 13.
Janno Gibbs’s educational game show “Kakasa Ka ba sa Grade 5?” will also be back for its second season on November 15. It will take over the timeslot of Celebrity Duets, which will have its finals on November 8.
Aside from Survivor Philippines, GMA also bought the franchise of another TV reality show called “My Dad Is Better Than Your Dad” which is also created by Survivor’s Mark Burnett.
In this show, dads will be paired with their kids and they will compete in each episode performing stunts and mind games. It is set to premiere on November 23 after the second season of “Tok! Tok! Tok! Isang Milyon Pasok.”
GMA meanwhile is still searching for the show’s host.
For the future projects of GMA, Richard Gutierrez will have another big project to be shown in the first quarter of 2009. He will don the mask of “Zorro” in his next TV series.
“Captain Barbell Meets Darna” will also be aired next year. However, it is still undecided whether Richard will reprise his role as Captain Barbell and which star will play the role of Darna.
Also for next year, GMA is planning to do a TV adaptation of “Totoy Bato,” which starred the late King of Philippine Movies Fernando Poe Jr.
The title role will be portrayed by action superstar Robin Padilla with possibly boxing champ Manny Pacquiao in the cast.
Robin’s leading lady will be Regine Velasquez as her follow-up project after “Ako Si Kim Samsoon.”
After “Kim Sam Soon,” another Koreanovela dubbed “All About Eve” will also be adapted for Philippine TV next year. Actress Sunshine Dizon and Iza Calzado, who have worked together before in “Impostora,” will be the stars in the local version.
Aside from “All About Eve,” GMA-7 has also bought the rights of two other Koreanovelas: “Full House” and “Coffee Prince.”
GMA executive said “Full House” is really intended for Richard and Marian, but the casting might change depending on the availability of the two stars.
For “Coffee Prince,” GMA has yet to decide who will play the lead characters. (JRDB/Sunnex)
