Brent shifts to showbiz; set aside modeling

"I am pretty much done with modeling but I still love it. It's still fun to do but if I want to break in to showbiz there are certain things that have to stop in order for showbiz to go the way I want to," he shared.

The Filipino-Canadian model meanwhile said he still has some modeling projects but at this time he is trying to limit it.

Brent is an image model of Natasha and has shoots every month. He also has an upcoming commercial for a fast food brand.

On the other hand, he also has a string of projects on TV and movie. At first, Brent said he tried to do two things at the same time but eventually he encountered problems in scheduling thus he decided to lie low with modeling.

"I am trying to do two things at the same time but I'm finding out having problems in scheduling. Showbiz has a little bit more volatile schedule like I should log off every Tuesday Thursday Saturday at the same time they can cancel it the same day or the very night before. There's some time that I could have done a fashion show," he explained.

"It's all showbiz now. Everything I run through my manager just in case there are scheduling conflicts. (I) just make it easier on myself I don't even go to casting anymore for modeling and even if they hire without addition or casting to it, I tell them I will do it, but just so you know, there's a possibility that I might cancel on you at the second," he added.

Brent is currently included in the cast of ABS-CBN's upcoming teleserye "Humingi Ako sa Langit" topbilled by Judy Ann Santos.

He is also part of the Desperadas sequel.

Brent is hoping that the public will support him although he can't speak Tagalog fluently but he said he perfectly understands it. He is also presently studying Tagalog as part of his plan to contrite in showbiz. (JRDB/Sunnex)
