Wednesday, October 15, 2008 ABS-CBN grooms brand new shows for 2009
THERE will be no major changes in the Primetime shows of ABS-CBN this year.
Fear Factor is the only show that is sure to hop into the Primetime Bida replacing "Iisa Pa Lamang" this November. The Korean series "Three Dads with One Mommy" will end this year but the network has yet to announce its replacement.
ABS-CBN Haponistic block meanwhile will be joggled by the emergence of Carlo J. Caparas's drama series "Pieta" topbilled by Ryan Agoncillo and Cherie Gil. It will take the timeslot of "Ligaw Na Bulaklak" starting October 27.
In the first quarter of 2009, Kapamilya network will then storm Primetime Bida with freshly-baked TV series. First in the list is "Humingi Ako sa Langit" starring Judy Ann Santos, which is slated to premiere in January.
Judy Ann still has a pending contract with ABS-CBN but if she opts to stay, she is expected to topbill the TV sitcom of her box-office movie "Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo."
The third and final installment of Susan Roces Cinema Collection is also set to scare households again in January also via "Florinda" starring Diamond Star Maricel Soriano.
Kids meanwhile will miss Super Inggo no more as ABS-CBN brings back the witty and cute superhero in "Super Inggo Book 2."
For the rest of 2009, the well-known house of Big Brother will again open its doors to celebrities, teens, and ordinary citizens for the 3rd season of Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) Celebrity and Teen Editions.
Another batch of scholars will also be chosen for another semester in Pinoy Dream Academy (PDA) Season 3 and PDA Little Dreamers Season 2.
ABS-CBN will also bring out a string of fantasy series next year as they launch "Nardong Putik," "Utoy," and "Kung Fu Kids Book 2" on the Primetime block.
Meanwhile, in November this year, Shaina Magdayao will take over the spot of her rumored boyfriend John Prats who is portraying "Tiny Tony" for the whole month of October. Shaina will play the role of Dragona in Komiks Presents.
Aside from fantaserye, ABS-CBN will not miss their forte in doing drama series like "Bagets," "Magkano Ang Iyong Dangal," and "Dulce Amor," all these in 2009 Primetime Bida.
"Eva Fonda" featuring Cristine Reyes will be a replacement in the afternoon block.
For gameshows, the network is still preparing for a show that will replace Kapamilya Deal or No Deal, but reports said it might be another franchised show from the US to be hosted by Kris again.
Edu Manzano meanwhile will be back for the second season of "1 vs 100" but there is still no timeslot set yet. (JRDB/Sunnex)
