Wednesday, October 15, 2008 Bank exec robbed inside Villamor air base
A BANK executive was victimized Monday night by burglars inside the headquarters of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) at Villamor Air Base in Pasay City.
Wilfredo Malvia, executive vice president of the Land Bank of the Philippines, left his Mitsubishi Montero Sport vehicle at the air base parking area to play a round of golf with his friends.
When he returned, he found out that the right front window of the vehicle was broken and several valuables were missing.
Among the missing items include a Glock 9mm pistol with three magazines; a laptop worth P85,000; wristwatch worth P2,000; and a play station portable game console worth P10,000.
Pasay Police Chief Marietto Valerio said they are still conducting an investigation into the incident.
It was learned that it was not the first time that such an incident happened in the area as a businessman named Raymond Sangil also reported that his car was burglarized last August.
Sangil said he had just parked his Honda CRV sport utility vehicle at the parking area to play a round of golf with his father when the incident took place.
Among the items taken by the robbers from Sangil's car were a wallet with P10,000; driver's license; ATM and credit cards; shoes; and several pieces of clothing items. (AH/Sunnex)
