Direk Khryss’s remains to be cremated Saturday

POPULAR director Khryss Adalia, who succumbed to colon cancer last Monday, is scheduled to be cremated on Saturday.

Adalia’s remains lie in Funeraria Paz at Araneta Avenue in Quezon City. Relatives and dear friends of the director are continuously arriving at the wake to condole his death.

Adalia, known as “Inay” in showbiz, had been diagnosed with colon cancer for a few months. Instead of spending his time in the hospital, he opted to stay and take a rest in his house.

Last Saturday, he was rushed to UST Hospital after complaining of severe pain. Unfortunately, last Monday at 8 a.m., he finally gave in.

In recognition for the last works of Adalia, his family organized a simple film viewing on Thursday at 8:30 p.m. at the UP Film Center.

They are inviting all co-workers and supporters of the director to watch the last movie he directed, “My Monster Mom.” Donations and help for the late director will be much appreciated by the family.

Khryss Adalia started to work in the entertainment industry in 1982. He was a dubbing supervisor and scriptwriter as well.

His first directorial job was the defunct teenage series “F.L.A.M.E.S” aired on ABS-CBN 2. In 1999, he transferred to GMA-7 and directed “Rio del Mar.”

Since then, his directing job went on veering some famous TV series like “Te Amo,” “Love To Love,” “Bakekang,” “Mga Mata Ni Anghelita,” and the last project he did for GMA was “Ako Si Kim Samsoon.”

Aside from directing, Adalia was also an actor of yesteryears.

Some of his movies were “Soltero” (1984), “Wake Up Little Susie” (1984), “Macho Dancer” (1988), “Orapronobis” (1989), “Live Show” (2000), “9 Mornings” (2002), and “La Visa Loca” (2005). (JRDB/Sunnex)
