Nadia to sue Cristy for libel

AFTER Nadia Montenegro filed a complaint before the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) against TV-host columnist Cristy Fermin last Tuesday, she subsequently disclosed filing another complaint versus the latter - this time a libel and slander suit.

Nadia will be filing libel charges against Cristy due to the TV-host’s tirade last October 5 on The Buzz talk show about the former actress. She plans to do it this week.

“I think she's really in a dream that she thinks she’s God now I have to prove her wrong. Wala siyang karapatan na panghimasukan ang buhay ko. Whether true or not she had no right and I leave it at that,” Nadia said in a TV interview.

According to her, Cristy remarked “malicious and slanderous words” against her. She particularly cited the claim of Cristy that she gave birth to a child but not with her husband former Caloocan mayor Boy Asistio.

With her complaint, Nadia asked the movie board to investigate if the TV-host violates MTRCB guidelines and requested for Cristy's temporary suspension from The Buzz.

MTRCB chairperson Conzoliza Laguardia meanwhile said they will schedule the hearing next week.

Cristy, on the other hand, said she will say her piece when she formally receives the complaint. (JRDB/Sunnex)
