Paolo on Survivor leakage
By Jill Beltran

AT THE height of Survivor Philippines (SP) popularity, rumors circulated on the Internet that castaway JC Tiuseco won the prestigious reality show.

This drew different reactions from the fans and viewers of SP that pushed Paolo Bediones to defend his show.

"They are called spoilers," said Paolo pertaining to those people who wrote that JC is the First Pinoy Sole Survivor.

Paolo explained that every television show (especially in the US) has spoilers. These are rumors, clues, hints, and speculations about a show made by people associated with specialist Internet sites meant to spoil a show, or it could also for fun or for media hype.

"May iba't ibang category. Yung iba para lang masira ang show. But some people nag-Internet, ask ng mga tao sa Friendster, internet blogs, pictures, medyo pumayat si ganyan eto walang nagbago baka maaga siyang natanggal mga ganun. These are intelligent spoilers," he said.

Instead of getting annoyed, Paolo even praised and commended spoilers, saying these people shows interest to their show. "I have high respect to these people, if they intend to spoil our show for whatever reason, but in my opinion whatever their intention, for us is good, they spend time to keep tabs on our show."

For Paolo, denying or affirming the spoiler will not do any good for their show. So the best defense is simply to brush spoilers off.

"Kapag sinabi ko na hindi tapos nanalo nga siya so tama sila. Kapag sinabi ko oo either way pabor sa kanila. But then more and more people still want to watch the show. And we have more intelligent viewers," he defended.

Paolo meanwhile said their editing team makes sure that people cannot predict who will be voted off next to keep viewers always on their toes every night.

With the union of Naak and Jarakay Tribe as Chalam Tribe, there will be more emotions and tensions that will be elicited from the remaining castaways.

Paolo related new enemies and new friends will be made. Alliances will be broken by lies and envy as every castaway feel the real survival challenge as they get closer to three million pesos.

He added that in the looming ending of Survivor this December, expect for "a very dramatic final tribal council."

Those who will be eliminated from the show starting with Jace Flores (eliminated last Friday) will be included in the "jury" who will decide who deserves to be the first Pinoy Sole Survivor.
