Escudero is turning 40 years old - the legitimate age to run for President - next year.
"I can't speak about the plan, ambition, or dream for a post that I am not qualified," he said.
Escudero ranked fifth in a recent Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey among the presidentiables. Vice President Noli de Castro topped the survey.
Earlier, former President Joseph Estrada announced that he will convene all the opposition politicians to decide for a unified presidential candidate in 2010.
For Escudero, an opposition stalwart, he will respect and abide by the decision of his party National People's Coalition (NPC) on the matter.
"Our party will decide next year," he said. (JRDB/Sunnex)
