Tuesday, November 25, 2008 Juday overwhelmed by success of ‘Ploning’
ACTRESS-producer Judy Ann “Juday” Santos is filled with happiness over her first-produced film “Ploning.”
This film is still in the run for its battle to be included in the final list of the prestigious award-giving body Oscars for its foreign language category.
In line with this, Juday has been receiving support from some generous hands and even the government, which made her really ecstatic.
Just recently, Juday got financial help from the Office of the President here and the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP). “They pledged support worth P2.5 million to cover some of our expenses. We are very thankful and very grateful,” said the actress.
Even his best friend cum Ploning’s director Dante Garcia is delighted and felt surreal over the help they are getting from various agencies and people. “It’s nice to see that everyone is extending their help.”
Juday is targeting to earn about P5 million which her group will be using in lobbying “Ploning” in the Oscars on its awarding presentation in February 2009. She also got a PR firm in the US to help promote their film.
Meanwhile, some of Juday’s bosom friends such as couple Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez, Jolina Magdangal, and Dingdong Dantes also helped the actress in raising funds for her movie.
They donated goods that will be auctioned at Plaza Ibarra in Timog, Quezon City on Friday and on December 3 at Rockwell Tent in Makati City. The money they will raise will be added to Juday’s resources for her film.
Juday meanwhile will be leaving for the US on December 8 to start her promotion of “Ploning” abroad. She will be there until December 15. (JRDB/Sunnex)/b>
