Saturday, December 06, 2008 Manileños to see Pacquiao-de la Hoya fight for free
TWENTY thousand boxing fans in Manila will get a chance to see the much-awaited Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao and Mexican fighter Oscar de la Hoya on the big screen and for free.
This after, the Manila City Government is offering a free showing of the boxing bout on Sunday, December 7, 2008 at the Tondo Sports Complex (District I), Patricia Sports Complex (District II), Rasac covered court (District III), Dapitan Sports Complex (District IV), San Andres Sports Complex (District V), and the Teresa covered court (District VI).
Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim said those who have tickets that were previously distributed by the City Government will have priority admission into the complexes. The sites will be open to admit expectators as early as 8 a.m.
The local government will likewise assign marshals to man the entry of the sports complexes to ensure that there will be no overcrowding, shoving, or chaos.
Aside from the said complexes, the City Government will also use the Ninoy Aquino stadium since it can accommodate a larger number of people at approximately 5,000.
The accommodation in the venue however will be on a first-come, first-served basis. (FP/Sunnex)
