Carlos denies using steroids
By Jill Beltran

IF HE is not dead, he is a steroid user. If he is not gay, he is being tagged as a playboy. Which is true about Carlos Agassi?

The death issue is 100 percent not true because Sun.Star got the chance to interview him in person.

Arroyo Watch: Sun.Star blog on President Arroyo

“I am so alive. I don’t know where all the rumors saying I’m already dead coming from. But if that what makes other people happy well it’s okay with me because at the end of the day I know what’s true and what’s not,” Carlos said.

Does he really use steroids to build his muscle, which incidentally inferred as the reason of his “death”? He explained: “Steroids are for people who have cancer. So it helps you gain weight it helps the body to function normally. So if you take steroids and your body is functioning normally it will function abnormally. So that’s the wrong thing.”

Carlos said he has been a vegetarian for the longest time now and his body is a result of work out, egg white, proper diet, and healthy way of living. "I don’t smoke and drink I don’t go at night I eat healthy and yet people saying steroids," he said.

Aside from being rumored as dead and steroid dependent, another issue that has been speculated about Carlos is his sexuality. He is being rumored as a gay since he has not yet linked to any woman or admitted any relationship in public.

But little did the public or even the entertainment circle know that Carlos has a six-year relationship with a non-showbiz lass. Any plans of settling down soon, "I want to settle down at least 60 percent of my time is with her how I wish a 100 percent we get to enjoy the stuff we are doing right now which is traveling."

Carlos said that he is definitely a one-man woman.

Carlos knows that he will not convince everybody to believe him, but he appealed to end issues on him anymore for the sake of his family.

“I understand if some people want to taint my name, but I hope they also realize the people around me. My family, especially my ailing grandmother, they are wondering how am I when I read the write-ups,” he said.

“To whoever circulating issues on me should not you be proud that I am a Filipino. Somehow this helps me because it’s free publicity but no thanks. It’s part of crab mentality I think it’s more fun to some people to make ‘lait’ than to give a compliment which I understand. To which is own,” he added.

Asked if he has enemies who would possibly make up things about him, he said: “Wala naman akong kaaway. I am a type of person who does not want to offend people because I don’t want to get offended. I live by the saying ‘don’t do unto others what you don’t want others do unto you’.”

“If I have nothing good to say I keep it to myself and if I want to help a person I say in the most constructive way,” he added. “I hope they also realize that we are all Filipinos and let’s just support each other.”

When the time Carlos was not so visible on TV, he kept himself busy studying nutrition and culinary in preparation for his plan to open a restaurant. Now he is set to open his new restaurant in Vito Cruz, Makati. "Our cuisine will be a fusion of Filipino, Eastern, Spanish, and Mediterranian."

He also has a gym in his house where he personally trains interested and "serious" applicants. "I do background check on all who are interested because some of my clients enrolled just to see my house or see me sometimes. I don't want to waste their time and money same as my effort in teaching and training them."

Carlos will be appearing in TV again as Shaina Magdayao's brother in superhero series "Dragonna."

"This will be another exciting and challenging role for me, and I am looking forward to work and bond with all the cast of the series."
