ANOTHER fresh face has been introduced in ABS-CBN's "I Love Betty La Fea."
Maricar Reyes, from the roster of Star Magic talents, has christened the small screen starting out as Armando's (played by John Lloyd Cruz) first love in the said comedy-drama series.
"Working with the Betty La Fea's cast was fun. They are all very welcoming and supportive of me," Maricar said.
This will mark the first acting role of Maricar on TV. Although she is not totally naive with regard to showbiz as she already graced some TV commercials, acting is a totally different experience.
"I was so nervous during the first shooting day. But they made the scene easier and lighter for me. I have scenes that I shot once only but most of the time I do take twos or more," she shared.
According to Maricar, working with John Lloyd is a dream come true for her. "John Lloyd is really nice and cute. He is very patient with newbie like me. I ask him questions on how to get certain emotions and he is very good."
She also praised other casts of the series whom she already worked with like Bea Alonzo and Vhong Navarro. "Bea is also very nice and very professional. 'Machika' siya. She asked me what commercials I did."
For Vhong, she said: "He is a very funny person so I had fun when I shot scenes with him, so relaxing as he made things better."
In preparation for her role, Maricar underwent workshop for several weeks. She was taught how to act as a sick person, which is her role in the series.
Maricar is thankful for ABS-CBN that she was given an opportunity to showcase her talent. She also hopes for more projects to come her way.
"Beyond words I am thankful because I realize no one was given this opportunity very often so when they told me that I will do the role, I am so elated," she said.
Aside from John Lloyd, Maricar is also looking forward to work with other Kapamilya male stars, particularly Piolo Pascual.
Maricar is not just an ordinary TV commercial model, but also a practicing doctor.
She said entering into showbiz is just another challenging experience for her that she wants to try and explore. (Jill Beltran/Sunnex)
