MULTI-awarded actress Helen Gamboa returns to small screen through ABS-CBN's forthcoming primetime series "Tayong Dalawa" starring Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson, and Jake Cuenca.
Helen has been away from the limelight for six long years after "Sa Dulo ng Walang Hanggan," which was her last project in Kapamilya network.
"It's good to be back. Showbiz is the biggest part of my life. So every now and then when I do hibernation, I really miss it," she said during Saturday's special press conference arranged by "Tayong Dalawa" team for the award-winning supporting cast of the series.
Helen will be playing an antagonist role different from the usual upright-characters she has done in the past.
"I was challenged with the role that's why I accepted it. It will be a new test for me. When someone offered me a good role like this, I would not say no. Maybe my passion is really in showbiz that's why I keep coming back," she said.
Other multi-awarded actors present in the press conference were Cherry Pie Picache, Agot Isidro, Miguel Faustman, Jiro Manio, and Gina Pareño.
Although this will be Helen's first time to work with these actors, with almost two months of taping, she has all good remarks about them.
"I will never exchange Gina, Agot, and Cherry Pie sa pagsasama namin ngayon. We are just like family. Parang totoo lalo na kapag gumagawa kami ng eksena. So I am honored and privileged to be working with them," she said.
On working with young generation stars like Kim, Gerald, and Jake, she said: "They are all great performers. I must say that they are all great actors. They are giving much time and concentration on their work."
"They know how to draw a scene. They could effectively portray the role Direk Ruel (Bayani) directs them to do. We can see their passion and concentration for their craft," she added.
Helen had been busy attending to her family for the past six years. Now that she is back in showbiz, she hoped to stay longer and continuously learn new things and master the craft closest to her heart - acting.
"I hope this will be the beginning. Acting is more of my passion rather than (for) the money. So I am always grateful to do it over and over again," she said. (Jill Beltran/Sunnex)
