FOUR suspected robbers were killed in two separate shooting incidents in Quezon City on Saturday night.

The first incident resulted in the death of three of the suspects who remained unidentified as of Sunday afternoon, said police investigator Jun Mortel.

Mortel said policemen set up a checkpoint in Barangay Mangahan after receiving information that a businessman was robbed in the area earlier.

He said the suspects, aboard a car, did not stop at the checkpoint when they were stopped by the policemen. This ensued a chase and a running gun battle that resulted in the death of the three suspects.

Two other suspects managed to escape.

The police recovered a caliber 45 pistol and two caliber 38 pistols from the slain suspects.

Also on Saturday night, Mortel said Quezon City policemen were also engaged in a shootout with two suspected robbers, one of them eventually died.

He said the policemen were responding to a robbery incident at the corner of Litex Road and Commonwealth Avenue when the incident happened.

“The policemen responded to the report that a woman was robbed in the area,” said Mortel. He said the other suspect escaped. (VR/Sunnex)
