Post greetings at Sun.Star website
CEBU -- Filipinos love to get in touch, shown all too well by the millions of text messages that clog up daily the networks of telecommunication companies in the country. Whether to convey congratulations, exchange love notes, express sadness or just say hi, Filipinos don't hesitate to send in a text or two.
Taking this fondness for keeping in touch one step further, the Sun.Star website at www.sunstar.com.ph has come up with an online greetings page, where family, friends and loved ones even on opposite sides of the pole can drop each other notes on any topic under the sun.
"It's a way of extending our services to website visitors and readers," said Gem Cabreros, Sun.Star Network Exchange (Sunnex) chief, on the rationale of the new section. Sunnex manages the Sun.Star website.
The page, launched just this September, will be updated every Friday.
He urged visitors to send greetings to onlineads@sunstar.com.ph for uploading to the Sun.Star greetings page.
To access this new Sun.Star section, click on the greetings button at the bottom left panel of the Sun.Star website main page.
Cabreros expects the page to be a hit among readers since it is a free service. He added that at present, there is no limit to the number of words in a greeting or people that a person can greet.
The Sun.Star website is the Internet home of the Sun.Star network of community papers in the Philippines. It offers news in 12 urban areas in the country, including Cebu, Bacolod, Iloilo, Dumaguete, Manila, Baguio, Pampanga, Pangasinan, Davao, General Santos, Cagayan de Oro and Zamboanga.
Its other services include, among others, a forum for readers, speak-out section, online store, festivals page. (Carla Basa-Martinez) |
