Roco, Villanueva won’t unite, pushing through with bids (1:05 p.m.)
THERE’S no more hope unifying presidential candidates Raul Roco and Eduardo "Brother Eddie" Villanueva after the two expressed strong determination to run as president in separate press conferences Tuesday.
Villanueva of Bangon Pilipinas said he hopes his rival Roco will soon be enlightened to slide down to be his vice president.
“Raul, now is the time, panahon na para sa pag-asa at pagbangon ng bayan,” Villanueva said.
In a separate press conference, Roco declared an end to the unification act since "it violates the standards of Luke 14," a Bible passage that says “the one who is ready, only the one who is ready, should lead.”
He pointed out that it is impossible for him to slide down because it was Bro. Eddie who told Roco he is “the most prepared candidate to run for president.”
Villanueva invited Roco to his Meeting de Avance on Thursday at Luneta but Roco declined the invitation because it will also coincide with his Meeting de Avance in Naga. (Mae Catherine Melchor) |
