Soliman gives up Social Welfare post, gives way to de Castro (12:50 pm)

MANILA -- Social Welfare Sec. Corazon "Dinky" Soliman announced Tuesday that she is resigning from her post effective October 31.

She will be replaced by Vice President Noli de Castro.


There have been reports that Soliman will be replaced by de Castro, who has expressed preference for the Department of Social Welfare and Development
portfolio.

Soliman said she learned last June 29 that she is not among those in the Arroyo Cabinet to be reappointed to their respective posts. Sunnex Luzon
