Three dead, two missing as boat capsizes off Legaspi (9:30 a.m.)

LEGASPI -- Three people drowned and two others are missing after their boat capsized in the waters off the central Philippine island of Masbate, the military said Tuesday.

Fisherman Edgar Cabiles rescued three people from the water and retrieved three bodies on July 1, military officials in Legaspi City southeast of Manila, reported.

The boat, which was carrying eight people, was capsized by huge waves as it was heading towards a town in Masbate, the military said.AFP
