Two Chinese-Filipinos abducted in RP (1:15 pm)

MANILA---Two Chinese-Filipinos were kidnapped by unidentified gunmen at the weekend in the Philippines, police said Monday.

The victims were travelling by car on Saturday when their path was blocked by armed men near the town of Tanza, just south of Manila, police said.

The suspects commandeered the vehicle, but one of the passengers escaped by jumping out of the car. The man, whose head was bloodied in the incident, later contacted police.

A manhunt later led to the recovery of the stolen vehicle, but the kidnappers had already by then fled with their captives, police said. AFP
