GMA Iloilo news anchor robbed, shot (5:00 p.m.)

ONE of the news anchors of GMA-6 Iloilo's Ratsada was robbed and shot by four unidentified men around 1 a.m. Thursday along the Diversion Road in Iloilo City.

Christopher Misajon was wounded on his left side and is still fighting for his life at the Iloilo St. Paul's Hospital.

The Mandurriao Police Station said Misajon, who was with a female companion, was inside his car when the robbers attacked them.

One of the robbers poked a gun at him. When he parried the barrel, the gun went off.

His female companion, however, was able to sneak away and sought police help.

The robbers, who carted away their cellular phones and cash, are still at-large.

Misajon co-anchors Ratsada, Iloilo's leading television news program, with Gerthode Tan-Baterina.

He was previously a news reader of ABS-CBN Iloilo and a correspondent of Cebu Daily News. (Sun.Star Iloilo)
