Arroyo urges Filipinos to pray on All Saints' Day (1:20 p.m.)

MANILA -- President Arroyo on Monday urged Filipinos to pray for the souls of their loved ones as well as for God's blessings for the country, according to the Press Secretary's official website.

Arroyo said that visiting the graves of departed loved ones during All Saints’ Day has always been an important part of Philippine culture and tradition.

"Atin ding ipagpasalamat sa Dakilang Tagapaglikha ang biyaya ng buhay na Kanyang ipinagkaloob sa atin (We should also thank the Divine Creator for the gift of life that He had given us," the President added.

Arroyo also urged that Filipinos include in their prayers Angelito Nayan, who, along with two other co-workers, were abducted in Afghanistan.

"It is my wish that all Filipinos throughout the nation will observe All Saints’ Day peacefully and orderly," the President said. (Sunnex)
