Police tighten security in metro (11:46 a.m.)

MANILA -- Police enforced tighter security measures in Metro Manila, particularly in Makati City, following twin attacks on the business offices of two major oil companies early Friday.

National Capital Region chief Avelino Razon Jr. has deployed additional policemen to the mass transit stations, shopping malls and public markets.

Unidentified men earlier threw grenades at the offices of Petron and Caltex companies in Makati City. The grenades however failed to explode but it shattered office windows.

Police still have to identify the perpetrators of the attacks. (Sunnex Luzon)
