Japanese diver missing off Mactan island (11:51 a.m.)

CEBU -- A Japanese diver who went diving Monday night along Olango channel, south of Mactan island, was reported missing by resort authorities, police said.

Chihiro Nawa, 20, of Yamagota, Japan, went diving together with Masahiro Kajita, 25, of Eichi, Japan, along the Olango channel at 8:30 p.m. Monday.

They were reported missing after they failed to return to the resort Monday night.

At 7:10 Tuesday morning, Kajita was found floating along the waters of Barangay Catarman, Cordova, the neighboring municipality of Lapu-lapu City where the resort is located.

Navy frogmen are still searching for Nawa as of this posting.(Sunnex)
