RP envoy confirms Nayan's release (12:02 p.m.)

MANILA -- Philippine Ambassador to the United Nations confirmed Tuesday the release of Philippine diplomat Angelito Nayan.

Ambassador Lauro Baja said a UN official informed him of Nayan's release.

According to Baja, Nayan and the two other UN workers, British-Irish citizen Annetta Flanigan and Shqipe Hebibi of Kosovo were released to the custody of Afghan officials. (Sunnex/Sunnex Luzon)
