MANILA -- The vice mayor of Laoag City was shot dead Wednesday dawn by still unidentified assailants outside a videoke bar in a barangay in the city.

Malacañang promptly ordered an investigation into the killing. Laoag City Vice Mayor Jimmy Chua, the victim, was shot and hit in the right temple outside a bar in Barangay Dalet.
